AMANDA DELGADO

Hello everyone! My name is Amanda Delgado. I am from Miami, Florida and, let me be honest, I’ve got the serious travel bug. I am a student at the University of Miami majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Advertising and Gender Studies.

The biggest advice I can give to you fellow women travelers is to never put your guard down and follow that gut feeling. The second things start feeling wrong, find an exit out of the situation you’re in.

EVELIEN EDWARDS

Hi everybody! My name is Evelien Edwards. I am from Breda in the Netherlands, but I also lived in a student home in Tilburg, where my university is located. I study Communication and Information science there. I hope to work in a communication department of an inspirational business in the future. I really recommend going on exchange to expand your knowledge and your whole horizon!

Tips when you are going on exchange: it is good to have an idea of what the culture of the country you are going to live in is like and to know the basics of the language (especially when you are going to live in a smaller Spanish city like Segovia). Secondly, if you have a passion, try to find ways to continue with it, because it will make you feel so much better (in my case: dancing). Last but not least, be open: for all the amazing opportunities and to meet new people -> enjoy the ride.

TRISTAN HOUSER

Hey! I’m Tristan Houser. My hometown is Naples Florida. I am a student at the University of Central Florida but I am currently studying abroad at IE University in Segovia Spain. I am an aspiring lawyer and writer.

The best advice I can give on travelling is simply this: Be prepared. You’ll thank yourself later when something unexpected arises.

DILLYN MCHENRY

Hey! My name is Dillyn McHenry. I’m from Brentwood, CA studying Integrated Marketing Communications at San Diego State University. In the future, I hope to become a celebrity publicist or work in PR for a beauty brand. Currently, I am a student at IE University in Segovia, Spain.

One tidbit of advice I have for students who want to study abroad is to make your Visa appointment as early as possible! Also, do your research on the city you’ll be living in, so you know the best restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and activities before you get there.

TARA NAYAK

Hey there! My name is Tara Nayak and I'm a rising Senior at The University of Texas at Austin, studying Advertising. Currently I am on exchange in the beautiful city of Segovia, Spain at IE University.

Growing up, my family loved traveling and experiencing different cultures, so when I found out about the study abroad program I figured what better way to immerse myself in another culture than spend 5 months in a different country.

One piece of advice I would give to anyone studying abroad: make sure to do research on the places you want to go to before booking anything! You can find so much useful information if you just look so be sure to take advantage of it.

KELSIE RAUCHER

I’m Kelsie Raucher. Originally from the midwest in Mount Vernon, Missouri, I study full time at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. By studying agricultural sciences & communication I hope to be a credible voice for farmers & ag companies in the future via marketing and communications.

My Advice: Learn how to pack less. You (your shoulders and back!) will be so grateful when you’re able to pack the smallest bag possible for weekend trips; not to mention you’ll save money with budget airlines.
